1928 Hupmobile Century Six

The Hupmobiles dramatic, low styling made them favorites among the flappers in the twenties. For years the Hupp Motor Car Corporation produced solid and reliable automobiles, earning the reputation as Car of the American Family. Hupmobiles were made for dependability rather than speed, and gained renown for setting endurance records. Unhappy with their four- wheel mechanical braking introduced in 1926, the 1928 models featured Hupmobiles exclusive four- wheel Steeldraulics- a one piece internal expanding band in leiu of seperate brake shoes. The most significant change for 1928, however, was its greatly improved styling. The lower lines and rounded contours of the 1928 Century Six were two years in advance of the styling of other cars. Body lines were lower and more sleek, while fender lines were flowing curves. At least 37 body styles or lines were available. The 1928 Hupp Century series was so well received that Hupp produced almost 66,000 cars that year.
